Prof (Dr) Abhay Sahoo, is an eminent endocrinologist from Bhubaneswar, known for his relentless effort in the field of Diabetes and Endocrinology. After completing his MBBS from MKCG Medical College, Berhampur, he secured his MD in general medicine from BHU and then pursued his master's degree (DM) in Endocrinology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Currently he is working as a Professor in Endocrinology at IMS and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneshwar and his primary responsibility involves conducting educational programs for medical students and molding future doctors. Besides being a medical educator, he is a gigantic practitioner at Bhubaneswar where his principal focus is to help patients effectively manage conditions related to diabetes and other endocrine disorders. Dr. Sahoo has made significant contribution to the development of Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at IMS & SUM Hospital in all its academic & clinical aspects and played a key role in emerging the hospital as a comprehensive and socially inclusive hospital of the state. He has conducted several diabetic detection camps and clinics in various rural areas of the state and screened a population of over 30,000 people. The detected patients were educated about diabetes and hundreds of patient were given free treatment through this service till date. He has 5 International & 7 National Publications in reputed journals and he is involved in several multinational clinical trials in Diabetes Mellitus. He is also an invited faculty in various national and international conferences. He was the organizing secretary of the ESICON-2018, Bhubaneswar and organized several other state conferences and academic symposiums. He is a member of the Executive committee of the Endocrine Society of India and reviewer of IJEM. He was Co-organizing Secretary of 14th annual conference of all India association for advancing research of obesity held at Bhubaneswar recently. For his distinguished contribution in health care management, he has received prestigious Rajdhani Gaurav , Ekamrashri Award and Global healthcare excellence award
